Motor scooter rider suffers broken leg in accident @ Free Bottom

- at least two other vehicular accidents occurred on Tortola, on Saturday, January 23, 2021

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- A motor scooter rider was taken to Dr D. Orlando Smith Hospital with a broken leg, following a collision with a car at Free Bottom, in the vicinity of Quomar Trading, on Saturday, January 23, 2021.

The mishap took place around 9:00pm.

Persons on the scene rushed to render assistance to the motor scooter rider until an ambulance arrived.

The circumstances surrounding the accident are not known at this time.

Motorscooter rider escapes serious injuries in Belle Vue accident

Earlier in the day, a motor scooter rider was fortunate to escape major injuries after he became involved in an accident with an SUV in Belle Vue around 3:00pm.

Persons on the scene expressed surprise the motor scooter rider did not end up under the vehicle.

He was; however, rushed to Dr D. Orlando Smith Hospital for injuries sustained about his body.

Another injured in separate accident

The first accident of the day occurred shortly after 9:00am, between two motor vehicles.

One person was rushed to Dr D. Orlando Smith Hospital with injuries.

      What exactly can the government do???? You can enact any number of laws, but with only so many and so many enforcement officers how would such laws be enforced?
      I really don't know the answer. We just hope the whole idea will soon wear itself out.

    CCTV, CCTV, CCTV, CCTV, CCTV. Record them driving recklessly and then take their bikes away. Maybe even attach decibel monitors to the cameras too and remove bikes that exceed a certain noise level. Job done.

    It is time for Kye to create an Enforcement Unit in the DMV since the police want to do it. Frazer was trying to do it I think but they dropped the ball. Now this is another chance have Enforcement Officers in DMV to give ticket, and drivers who break the law and give them power to arrest and lock up all them bikers who ride illegally, hands done.

    why not ban cars..the bikes are not the problem, lack of education is the problem. No riding school, lack of road rules being followed. it all Bol downs to the rider.

    A lot of the riders are under aged to start with : don’t these kids have parents ? Every week we here commenting and CLEARLY the people responsible do not give a RATS @#%s . Now there are LARGE horsepower bikes all over “ HOLDING DOWN” and creating another accident waiting to happen ——- but. I know when them crash on those 600—750 cc IT WONT BE NO ROAD RASH—-the pieces is what will be picked up —- I pray for our young men

    First of all we need to have a committee to standadise the price of vgina in the country.. it becoming harder and harder everyday for a poor man to get a piece.. all the money-men spoiling them with $300 and $500 for a piece.. i remember the days when a man couldve gotten piece for a box of kfc and coke.. Please someone stop the madness. poor men needs love too

    Twice today I came close to being hit by a scooter.
    1) scooter passed me from behind at a high rate of speed, only to duck right in front of me to avoid oncoming car. Came so close to me to avoid oncoming car, he almost hit my door and mirror.
    2) scooter rider doing pop a wheely on one back tire, swerved and I had to jam on brakes to avoid hitting him.
    These are 2 different riders. My DAMN nerves are shot.
    3) Riding with a 3 year old boy in the front and the mother on the back..3 freaking people on 1 bike! WTF???
