Centenarian Mrs Iris L. Harrigan celebrated with card & flowers from King Charles III
Governor John J. Rankin CMG yesterday, September 15, 2023, presented Mrs Harrigan with a card from His Majesty King Charles III, and accompanying flowers which were locally grown from the hills of Tortola.
Premier and Minister of Finance, Dr the Hon Natlio D. Wheatley (R7) who also attended the event, presented Mrs. Harrigan with fresh flowers while sharing that it was a privilege to celebrate Mrs Harrigan's 100th birthday.
“Her life is a beautiful tapestry of resilience, love, and wisdom. On behalf of the people of the British Virgin Islands, we send our warmest wishes. Happy 100th, Mrs. Harrigan! With the strength I felt in your handshake, I know you have many, many more years of good health!” he said.
Born on 4 August 1923, Ms Harrigan has lived in the Virgin Islands her entire life and presently resides at North Valley, Virgin Gorda.
Present also was legislator, Hon Vincent O. Wheatley (R9) who shared in the celebration of Mrs Harrigan receiving the honor from the King.
Yesterday's event was the second celebration for Mrs Harrigan on the new milestone, her first celebration was hosted by her children and grandchildren during her 100th Birthday Celebration at Walters Park last August 4th, 2023.
