PASEA ESTATE, Tortola, VI- Delta Petroleum has expressed gratitude to the Virgin Islands Fire and Rescue Services, the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) and its staff at the service station in Pasea for their quick action that prevented what could have been a major disaster on August 27, 2024.

In a press release late Tuesday, August 27, 2024, Delta Petroleum reported that a driver accompanied by two passengers—one adult and one child—entered the Pasea service station and abandoned their vehicle at the gas pump when it began to smoke and subsequently caught fire.

“Thanks to the swift actions of the Fire Department, our dedicated team members at Delta Petroleum, and the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force, the situation was managed effectively, preventing what could have been a major catastrophe. We are grateful for their quick response and professionalism, which ensured the safety of all individuals present,” Delta Petroleum reported.

No injures or damage to property

Fortunately, there were no injuries reported, and no physical damage occurred to property, aside from the vehicle, which was safely towed from the premises, the press release said.

Delta Petroleum also announced that the Pasea service station has reopened for normal operations.

“We extend our sincerest thanks to the public for their patience and understanding during this incident.

Delta Petroleum is committed to providing safe and reliable service to our customers while prioritizing the well-being of our community,” the press release stated.

You all need to know the truth of this story. This is a lie!!! The vehicle was not left unattended. The driver ran out and ask a Delta worker for their extinguisher and she said why did you stop here and no we will not give you one. As she was returning to the vehicle it began to flame up even more and they had to grab the child quickly because of stupidity of DELTA workers.

Let's say that what your saying is totally true. She was NOT to enter a "gas station" whether there's smoke or flame coming from your vehicle regardless. She put the life of other innocent persons doing their work in danger that could've been a major catastrophe not just for delta and it's staff but for that entire community.

OMG! What was she thinking? This could have killed so many people and caused a major explosion. I shudder to think what could have happened but thank God it didn't.

Just stop the car on the road and get out to safety.

@idots, stop making stupid excuses for recklessness. She could have simply stopped the D...M vehicle IMMEDIATELEY the moment she saw or smell smoke coming from it. It happened to me before, and I immediately stopped and pull up my hand brakes and got out. So PLEASE STOP making excuses for this brainless woman.
