VALLEY, Virgin Gorda, VI– On Friday, May 31, 2024, officers from the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) conducted several search operations on Virgin Gorda as part of investigations into the attempted armed robbery at Leverick Bay Resort on Sunday, May 26, 2024.

Several search warrants were executed at multiple properties believed to be linked to the crime and two individuals were arrested, and items of evidential value were seized.

Ganja farm discovered on VG

According to the RVIPF in a press release today, June 3, 2024, during one of the searches, evidence was also uncovered linking a person of interest to large-scale cannabis cultivation on Virgin Gorda. This led officers to a series of cannabis fields in an area known as The Camp, where they uprooted approximately 3,500 fully-grown cannabis plants, destroyed around 4,000 seedlings, and seized various farming implements found at the scene.

"These actions represent a significant disruption to the activities of those believed to be involved in the attempted robbery," the RVIPF stated.

Arrested persons freed without charges

The operations continued into Saturday, June 1, 2024, during which an additional individual was arrested for questioning.

Police said; however, that all persons arrested were interviewed and subsequently discharged from custody pending further investigation.

The RVIPF said it is seeking witnesses or anyone with information regarding this incident. "If you have any information, please contact the Crime Stoppers line at 800-8477 (TIPS) or, if overseas, at 1-284-800-8477.

"Alternatively, you can reach the RVIPF Intelligence Unit at 368-9339. Even seemingly insignificant details could be crucial to the investigation. All information provided will be kept confidential," the RVIPF stated.

I thought the marijuana was already legalized.
I guess they could charge them so they pay a fine, since they went about growing so many weed illegal, but at least leave them so they can sell and pay their fine.

Let the people plant their own. 12 plants a person & other crop required alongside it.

Stimulate a gardening boom tomatoes ect. We continue our own enslavement while some want to be the new master. Or was this weed being grown as a service to humanity?

If it was just the farm it would be uprooted & no one would be arrested in relation to it.
Im sure they are cursing each other and whatever led to this. Were they planning to rob the farm? Someone's not living good and sweating.
