Police confirms VINO story about body identified as ‘Snoopy’

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Virgin Islands News Online (VINO) had first and accurately reported that the body found at Rogues Bay on July 28, 2016 on the main island of Tortola was that of missing man Devern Stanley aka Snoopy.

Our information was confirmed by our senior sources in the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) and it was corroborated by personnel in the forensic department even before tissue samples were sent overseas for verification.

Our sources had stated that police had seen a video that was made prior to Snoopy’s disappearance and which was circulated on social media and had recognised it was the same clothes found on the body that Snoopy was wearing in the video.

Meanwhile, the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force issued a press release late yesterday, August 25, 2016 confirming our story.

It said its Major Crime Team received documentation that confirmed the body uncovered by officers of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force on July 28, 2016 at Rogues Bay is that of Devern Stanley. 

“Tissue samples from the body sent oversees for examination matched that of Stanley. The pathologist concluded that the cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head. His death is being treated as a homicide,” the press release stated.

It noted too that the family of Devern Stanley was informed of the findings yesterday and continues to be kept updated on the investigations.

Police are appealing to the public for information that could be helpful to this murder enquiry, no matter how trivial. Persons can to contact the Major Crime Team directly at 368-5682 or the RVIPF Intelligence Unit at 368-9339. Persons can also report the information anonymously to Crimestoppers through its Miami-based hotline number 800-TIPS (8477).

Members of his family stated that Stanley was last seen Saturday, June 4 at the home in Free Bottom. Others reported seeing him at the Crystal Nightclub after midnight the next morning.

      @ fine...not withstanding the circumstantial evidence the police looking for people to come forward to testify and that is some serious $&it(which one of us willing to take such risk; we talking about serious murder)....the whole thing is sad and very sad because we just killing off each other and for what, is the million dollar question....

        @Wize up, I got what you are saying. See, it is not that people don't want to get involved they are afraid. It seems that the law protect the criminals. And people is afraid that the police is going to put their names out there if they go to them with info. The killer is already in jail. The killer did not shoot the guy to throw things off. The streets is saying the killer is already in jail. The police don't need the public assistance to solve this one.
