ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Our newsroom can confirm that the body of a male found in the bushes at Rogues Bay on the northern side of Tortola is that of missing person Devern Stanley aka ‘Snoopy’.

The body was found on July 28, 2016 after police reported that residents in the area had smelled a strong stench. This led police to patrol the area and discovered the partially decomposed body of a male in the bushes close to the main road.

It is our newsroom’s understanding that the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) is in communication with the family of the deceased and we will hold other graphic details until the RVIPF’s final investigations are over, granting the family time to mourn this regrettable loss.

Body found @ Rogues Bay

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- A body, which is yet to be identified, was found on the northern side of Tortola today, July 28, 2016.

Speculation has been rife that the body is that of Devern Stanley aka Snoopy of Free Bottom, who has been reported missing since Saturday June 4, 2016.

Police, however, have steered clear of any such speculation in their press release to the media confirming the discovery of the body.

"Police confirm that a body was discovered by officers of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force this morning following a Police search in the Rogues Bay area. No identification or details are available at this time," the press release from the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) stated.

It is not yet clear what was the state of the body when it was recovered.

    The truth is BVI is no longer the same. I know the youths are following what society and TV teach them. Long are the days where kids were discipline by a community. With so call development comes crime and many other byproducts. It is sad to see blood shed for self justification. Blood shed for greed power wealth and so call respect. The most hurtful thing is the family and friends who are left to moan. This problem is not a Tortola ting it's a BVI thing and what hurts me the most is we blog non sense into the international market and make people confirm their suspicions about some of us. Unless we change our attitude as a people more will always be said than done.
