UPDATE: Rogues Bay body is that of Devern Stanley aka ‘Snoopy’
The body was found on July 28, 2016 after police reported that residents in the area had smelled a strong stench. This led police to patrol the area and discovered the partially decomposed body of a male in the bushes close to the main road.
It is our newsroom’s understanding that the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) is in communication with the family of the deceased and we will hold other graphic details until the RVIPF’s final investigations are over, granting the family time to mourn this regrettable loss.

Body found @ Rogues Bay
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- A body, which is yet to be identified, was found on the northern side of Tortola today, July 28, 2016.
Speculation has been rife that the body is that of Devern Stanley aka Snoopy of Free Bottom, who has been reported missing since Saturday June 4, 2016.
Police, however, have steered clear of any such speculation in their press release to the media confirming the discovery of the body.
"Police confirm that a body was discovered by officers of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force this morning following a Police search in the Rogues Bay area. No identification or details are available at this time," the press release from the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) stated.
It is not yet clear what was the state of the body when it was recovered.
