“I wish to extend warm congratulations to Mr Kyron McMaster OBE who was presented with his Order of the British Empire medal at Buckingham Palace.

“Mr McMaster’s outstanding success is evidence of what can be achieved when raw talent is combined with grit and determination,” Governor Pruce said in a statement on November 29, 2024.

McMaster ‘truly inspiring’- Gov Pruce

McMaster, a 2-time Diamond League Champion and reigning Commonwealth Games gold medallist, is currently ranked 4th in the world for 400M Hurdles athletes.

“Mr McMaster, your courage and commitment is especially admirable, considering the hardship you have faced in your journey to greatness.

“The fact that you are constantly thinking about how you can give back to your community – the people of the Virgin Islands – while continuing to climb new heights is truly inspiring. We are all so proud of you. Congratulations Kyron McMaster OBE,” Governor Pruce stated.
