LONDON, United Kingdom- Virgin Islands' Olympian and World Championships silver medallist Kyron A. McMaster was on Thursday, November 28, 2024, bestowed with the title Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) by the Princess Royal at Buckingham Palace.

Speaking with media houses present, McMaster stated: "It feels good to be recognised by the British Empire for my due diligence in sports and the British Virgin Islands."

He further added that "he doesn't take this [honour] lightly.'

McMaster, who is currently ranked 4th in the world for 400M Hurdles athletes, anticipates many more achievements in the future, including possibly working his way up to being honoured as Sir Kyron McMaster.

The OBE investiture is usually bestowed to reward outstanding contributions in war, communities, and various professional and philanthropic areas of life.
