VI’s Heritage Dancers to illuminate stage @ 45th anniversary stage show
In a special concert, titled "Preservation and Innovation," the dancers will take to the stage on March 17, at the Eileene L. Parsons Auditorium of the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College.
Founder of the group and former legislator, Ms. Eileene L. Parsons, OBE expressed her excitement, in staging the 45th-anniversary celebration.
"We are thrilled to mark this 45-year journey of preserving and promoting the cultural tapestry of the Virgin Islands through the art of folk dance. This concert is not just a celebration of our past, but a testament to the enduring spirit of our community and our commitment to passing on the legacy to future generations."
The event will feature vibrant choreography, traditional music, and a celebration of the cultural legacy passionately preserved by the BVI Heritage Dancers for four-and-a-half-decades.
Community encouraged to come out
The group’s President, Varisse Hodge also encouraged the community to attend the anniversary concert, highlighting the diverse repertoire of folk dances that will reflect the unique stories, traditions, and history of the Virgin Islands.
Tickets for this cultural extravaganza are priced at $20.00 for adults and $10.00 for children aged 4-16.
Tickers for the group can be purchased from members of the group or at the door on the day of the event.
