I would like to join the Hon. Premier and extend congratulations to government and people of Guyana on the celebration of its 58th anniversary of independence. It was a long and difficult journey. However, I must emphasize the vision of the founding father for providing free education for all Guyanese from nursery to university. In addition, the concept of self-reliance was instilled in all its people. Now that the country has started to develop the oil industry, I do hope whatever benefits derived from the oil industry would be used for development of its people. May God continues to bless the government and people of Guyana.
