PLEASANT VALLEY, Tortola, VI- The woman found unresponsive in Pleasant Valley, on the main island of Tortola, today, May 21, 2020, has been identified as 88-year-old Ione Jennings.

Meanwhile, Third District Representative Hon Julian Fraser RA has been one of the persons to express condolences to the family and friends of Mrs Jennings.

Posting on his Facebook page today, Hon Fraser described Mrs Jennings as a devout Christian who never missed church when she was able and equally cared for and loved her family.

“It was only last Thursday I saw her out in her yard sitting and I kidded with her daughter and two caretakers that they had better continue to take good care of her so she can continue to enjoy this kind of life. I understood she was out in the yard again yesterday.

“She is gone now and we will all miss her,” Hon Fraser wrote.

The veteran legislator recalled that Mrs Jennings was employed at The Moorings in 1972 “before it became famous by its original owners at its original location, and spent decades of her life in the hospitality industry there.”

Mrs Jennings leaves to mourn eight children, one brother and two sisters and a number of grandchildren.

The management and staff of Virgin Islands News Online express sincere condolences to the family of the late Mrs Ione Jennings.

We had our doubts on some last deaths but now something is really wrong here and you can’t be so delusional to think this is normal in the bvi

Yes, many of us are worried about the many cases of sudden deaths. But, apart from the sadness of the loss of life...what else is sad is that the government will never reveal the truth of what's going on.

When these deaths happen every year, y’all be so caught up in your own lives that you don’t see this, but because y’all are hypnotized by the media, Covid19 and being trapped inside your homes everything seems strange, people are dying yes and it may be a lil more than average but if you lock people in their house for so long what do you think will happen

Fear is gonna kill our ppl more than ever make it worse the brainwashed people keeping these mask on their faces 24/7 smh it’s only gonna get worse and so will your immune system, people are scared to go to the doctor because all of us have atleast one of these symptoms of the so call virus, people gonna drop down so expect it
    • wow (21/05/2020, 16:19) Like (11) Dislike (1) Reply
Don't know the cause of these deaths. But suggests that more testing needs to be done to avoid the fear in people. Without a more conclusive outcome as to these sudden deaths, people are going to assume its COVID-19 thus creating a state of Panic and Anxiety. People are going to be less forthcoming in reporting symptoms in fear of being turned away or ignored from Healthcare. This is a serious state of Emergency with the re-opening of the Territory and having to deal with the ignorance noise of individuals who are just thinking about their wealth and not others health. So far, the Government is doing the best that circumstances would allow them to. Unfortunately, we are in the Tropics and have asthma and allergy suffers. Wearing a mask indoors or 24/7 is detrimental to health. More businesses needs to establish Remote Employment until we can get a.handle on or eliminating COVID-19

Conspiracy theories will kill a lot of people. We believe everything that makes us feel like we are an experts. People die every day all over the world. Now, once someone dies there is a special reason why they died. The only thing that is going on is we are waiting for the "BIG BANG". Come on people, stop stressing yourselves. Live and be happy.

Why is a death the cause of such conspiracy theories? Do the math! If our population is 35,000, and the average life expectancy is 70 years, on average, 500 people per year will die. We are not here forever. 500 people per year is almost 10 people a week. It's sad when anyone dies, but we all will do so and it shouldn't be the cause for mass suspicion!

What are the chances that mold from Irma is still in some peoples’ houses? People did predict that we would see these effects in 2-3 years, timeline is matching up.

      @ Irma

You raised a valid point of mold being a silent killer which causes respiratory problems over time.
