PARAQUITA BAY, Tortola, VI- For the third year running, the winner of the Adult Spelling Bee has hailed from Virgin Gorda.

Tanieka A.T. Gludd emerged the winner of the 2024 competition held at Eileene L. Parsons Auditorium, H. Lavity Stoutt Community College (HLSCC) in Paraquita Bay on Saturday, August 24, 2024.

Tiebreaker was needed

The competition went down to a tiebreaker between Gludd and second-place finisher, Stephanie A. Russ Penn.

The third-place finisher was Kelberlin V. George.

Seven spellers entered the competition and three were eliminated after the first 2 rounds. The 4th person making it to Round 3 was Sharlene Smith.

In the 3-year existence of the competition, Virgin Gorda has won all three.

Continuing with the trend of the winner randomly pulling a school for which all proceeds of the competition would go towards, Elmore Stoutt High School will be receiving $2500.00.
