Taxi & tour operators invited to meet with Florida Caribbean Cruise Association

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Taxi and tour operators in the [British] Virgin Islands have been invited to an exclusive meeting with the Florida Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA) on May 14, 2024.

The meeting hosted by the BVI Ports Authority (BVIPA) and Cyril B. Romney Tortola Pier Park will be held from 6:00 PM at Maria’s by the Sea Conference Room.

According to the BVIPA, tour and transportation providers on the Sister Islands unable to attend this meeting in person were asked to email BVIPA at marketing@bviports.org for a link to a TEAMS meeting invite.

The FCCA represents the mutual interests between the world's largest cruise lines and the Caribbean and Latin American destinations.

2025 cruise tourism numbers in the Virgin Islands are projected to break historical records, according to Minister for Communications and Works Hon Kye M. Rymer (R5).

The Minister shared the projection during an interview with the Government Information Service (GIS) at Seatrade Cruise Global 2024, in Miami, Florida in April.

    They all need to go. Port officials also. There are a lot of service and behaviour issues need to sort out..Hope fully we can in the next 2 yrs we can jump from 30th out of 32 to middle of the pack...We need this industry. We need to improve it and build it. The cruse business is very competitive lots of countries are aggressive in their pursuit..

    Waste of time who is really listening to taxi drivers crees? Deaf ears if you want my honest opinion. You have a handful of drivers mashing up the industry and are afraid to deal with them instead you categories all as the same. Deal with our internal affairs first then fcca can interact with the entire body. Stop wasting people time. Come back from sea tarde and update the drivers before engaging in this type of meeting. We always exposing our dirty laundry first before we do what is right.

    Go to the meeting and see who was recently awarded taxi licenses since govt won’t tell you.

    I will be there. To force the taxi driver who is keeping my property and not giving it over to my friend in Tortola.
    I am in the states, and 'eddie' and 'murlise' have a set of professional equipment that is not theirs. And other
    things too. Lets see if they are rewarded.
