Showtime band promises big things for festival & beyond
“The Showtime band is hotter than ever right now,” said Mr Eustace ‘Boss’ Freeman, one of the leading persons in the 13-year old local band, during an exclusive interview with Virgin Islands News Online.
Like several other local bands in the Virgin Islands, Showtime band is keen on ensuring that the social aspects of residents and non-residents alike are well fed with good music and great entertainment.
Showtime’s album for this year is entitled ‘Good over Evil’ as the band members are very keen about promoting good throughout and have decided to do so through their music. “We want the fans to be the same way going forward,” said ‘Boss’, who added that his fellow band members are best described as the ‘A’ team with a great chemistry. “We want to keep that chemistry going and growing,” he added.
Easily ranked as the number one band in the Virgin Islands, Showtime is one of the main features for the festival season. The band was on stage last night, July 31, 2013 backing up the Soca Monarch show and providing the after-show live entertainment throughout the remainder of the night. “We have been approaching festival like it’s our festival and we just going hard, we going hard. Whenever we hit the stage we go to put on a show and so far the public has been loving us so we love the public for loving us and we are going to continue doing the good work,” said Mr Freeman.
Hot on the charts for the band this festival is one Mr Freeman described as ‘very hot’. The track features Pumpa and the Unit. “This is a crazy, crazy track, it’s called ‘Lap Dance’ and people love this track.”
Meanwhile, the festival season is being used as preparation for upcoming assignments abroad since, according to Mr Freeman, immediately following festival they would be engaged in a lot of international tours and performances and further taking the Virgin Islands music to the international arena and markets. “That’s what we are gearing up for and that’s what we are hoping to do in the future,” Mr Freeman stated emphatically.
As for the loyal Showtime band fans, Mr Freeman expressed much gratitude for their continued support and encouragement. “I just want to thank the fans for supporting Showtime band for the 13 years now. Continue to support Showtime band, be a fan of music and continue loving yourself and be good,” Mr Freeman said.
