Much colour & gyration at Carnival 2013 in St Thomas, USVI

There were some 52 entries and lots of gyration as the troupes moved along.
The Parade also brought a colourful close to the month long celebration of VI Carnival 2013.
There were many familiar faces along the way as a number of persons travelled from the Virgin Islands to St Thomas for the event, while some had stayed over since Friday following the Carnival horse races at the Clinton E. Phipps race track. No doubt the VI spectators had something extra to celebrate following Really Uptown’s victory in the race for the Governor’s Cup.
The revellers, in bright costumes, were kept active with carnival music, including from steel pans.
Some of the popular troupes included Inferno’s, Hugga Bunch and Jester’s, the Luna’tics, the Moko Jumbies and the Gypsy’s.
Caribbean Ritual Dancers took the first prize for Troupes Under 50 while What-AH Carnival Troupe was the winner in the 50-100 category.
The Road march title went to Spectrum Band with their catchy song ‘Wake up to wuk up’.
