ESTATE BOVONI, St Thomas, USVI- While horse racing in the [British] Virgin Islands (Tortola) is at a standstill over a land dispute, our neighbours in St Thomas, US Virgin Islands (USVI) are moving full steam ahead.

The Clinton E. Phipps Racetrack on St Thomas is expected to be standing room only, with the return of horse racing this Friday, May 3, 2024. According to the official race card, there will be some 7 races.

Government needs to take the land and before races start back change the name of the track it is so sad how that family is going on after having the smallest land owner down there

Funnily enough, the people who say take the land are the people who do not know the first thing about owning land.

The VIP failed and brought international disgrace on us, yet you all still put them back. It's obvious that the premier has no interest in ever resolving this issue for the track. We will have to wait until three years when the Govt changes.

Many residents and political leaders do not understand the unique historical and community context of why we need the Ellis Thomas Downs racing track back
