ESHS received $2.5K from Adult Spell-Off organisers
The school received a $2, 500 cheque from competition coordinators Mandisa Frett and Darryl Flanders during the school’s first assembly on Monday, September 9, 2024.
The competition was held on August 24, 2024, at the Eileene L. Parsons Auditorium. H. Lavity Stoutt Community College (HLSCC) in Paraquita Bay. Virgin Gorda resident Tanieka A.T. Gludd emerged winner of the competition and randomly selected the ESHS to receive this donation.
Competition promotes literacy while raising funds
“While the competition promotes literacy in the Virgin Islands, one of our other objectives is to raise funds for schools in the Territory,” Flanders told
Meanwhile Principal of ESHS, Vanessa K. Garraway said, “Elmer Stoutt High School is always glad to have a new partner, we want to say thank you, thank you, thank you, we really appreciate this donation.”
The VI Adult Spell-Off Competition has been held annually for the past three years. It is tradition that the winner randomly selects a school to receive the competition’s proceeds.
