East Action Committee presents 2 smart TVs to Willard Wheatley Primary School
The committee, which comprises persons from the 7th and 8th Districts, has donated 2 smart televisions to Willard Wheatley Primary School.
According to one member of the committee, L. Allen Wheatley, the committee had discussions with the principal of Willard Wheatley and found out there was a need for an air condition unit in the principal’s office and 3 flat-screen televisions for the classrooms.
Mr Wheatley said the group was able to donate two of the televisions, thanks to sponsorship from two members of the committee who wish to remain anonymous.
The TVs were installed in the classrooms on Saturday.
Mr Wheatley said there has also been a request for playground equipment by the school and that will be looked at soon.
Purpose of East Action Committee
Regarding the East Action Committee, Mr Wheatley said “The purpose was to see how we as members of the community could get together and best assist with addressing problems within the 7th and 8th District.”
He said discussions so far have entailed matters pertaining to Emancipation Festival, the Willard Wheatley and Francis Lettsome Primary Schools.
The Committee will also be looking to stage fundraisers to realise some of their projects. So far, a fish fry is planned for the end of October.

Honest accountability is like a beggar, begging his employees for his own processions. This too is is sad, very, very.
