De Jesus slams 151 as Royal Knights overpower Vikings in BVICA T20 Tournament
'Merciless' De Jesus
Keion De Jesus smashed 6 sixes and a whopping 23 fours en route to 151 runs, as Royal Knights defeated Vikings by 72 runs in a rain-affected game that was eventually decided on the Duckworth-Lewis method.
In the opening game, Cavaliers made light work of Under the Tree who they defeated by 104 runs.
Royal Knights posted 287-3 from 20 overs, with the destructive De Jesus, the Man of the Match, eventually losing his stumps to Jieunick Mingo.
Wayne Richards ended on 74 not out.
Earlier, Amari Hinds perished via the run-out route when he was on 33.
Vikings, in reply, were 71-2 from 7 overs when rain interrupted.
Mingo was not out on 27. Deco Khemraj had earlier chipped in with 25 runs, with 24 coming from 4 sixes.
Reno Mittelholzer had accounted for both of the Vikings’ wickets tumbling.
Sewchrarran hits unbeaten half-century for Cavaliers
Cricketing powerhouse Cavaliers stamped their authority against Under the Tree in a game shortened to 12 overs per side due to rain.
Batting first, Cavaliers amassed 160/1 in 12 overs, with Avishkar Sewchrarran making an unbeaten 63.
Gavin Hitnarine lived up to his name with 60 runs, which included 5 sixes and 7 fours.
Under the Tree bowler Ortis James went for 50 runs off 3 overs but he was the only wicket-taker.
Under the Tree then limped to 56 for 9 in 10.3 overs, handing Cavaliers victory by 104 runs.
Christianand Dhanpaul had a 5-wicket haul for a miserly 9 runs.
