MIAMI, Florida, USA– Prosecutors in the upcoming high-profile case against the former Virgin Islands (VI) Premier, Andrew A. Fahie have filed a list of phone evidence they plan to use against him. The evidence includes messages and phone records.

The US Virgin Islands-based St Thomas News Source indicated that W. Smith, R. Sylvester, M. Vanterpool are some of the people Fahie corresponded with shortly before his arrest on narcotics smuggling and money laundering charges, according to court records filed Wednesday, January 17, 2024.

The publication noted that while the call list of Fahie’s and alleged co-conspirator Oleanvine Pickering-Maynard’s isn’t an indication of any wrongdoing, prosecutors thought the phone records were important enough to include as evidence.

Top Cop Mark Collins on list

More names appearing on the list include C. Maritza, B. Sylvester, D. Osborne, C. Kettle, and R. Garaway, with just a first initial and a surname with the exception being Royal Virgin Islands Police Force Commissioner of Police (CoP), Mark Collins and another person.

Former Governor John J. Rankin, CMG recently launched an investigation into the Police Commissioner, Mark Collins, over an unrelated matter concerning a petition raised against him with some 55 allegations against the CoP.

Commissioner of the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service, Kurt Walton has been tasked to review the myriad of complaints against the Police Commissioner, and in a recent interview, Mr Rankin said Mr Walton has been given Terms of Reference to investigate any aspect of the petition, but it was the leaked email matter that was particularly concerning to him

A recent leaked email out of the force suggested Mr Collins requested senior ranks of the RVIPF to destroy certain evidence relevant to a matter involving a now-retired officer.

Case set to being January 22, 2024

Meanwhile, the content of Fahie and Pickering Maynard’s phone calls, text messages, and WhatsApp messages likely won’t be known until the Monday, January 22, 2024, trial the St Thomas News Source detailed. Pickering-Maynard, the former BVI Ports Authority Managing Director, is scheduled to testify against Fahie in the case.

Already having pleaded guilty, her son Kadeem was sentenced to 51 months in prison and his mother will learn her fate in February after a similar guilty plea.

Both Fahie and co-defendant Pickering-Maynard were arrested separately in Miami; however, arrested with Pickering-Maynard was another person identified in court records only as R.S. In the days leading up to the arrests, Pickering-Maynard called and sent messages to two numbers belonging to “R. Sylvester,” one to a VI number and one to a US number.

More to be revealed in court

Fahie and the Maynards allegedly planned to work with people they believed to be international drug runners and as part of the plan, bribe local officials to allow large amounts of money to pass through the Terrance B. Lettsome Airport without inspection and arrange for drug-laden cargo ships to anchor off Tortola for a few days to gain legitimacy.

They also allegedly planned to set up shell corporations to further conceal the scheme, according to prosecutors.

The USVI News Source added that Prosecutors plan to show jurors photos of Fahie, Pickering Maynard, Kadeem S. Maynard, R. Sylvester and people identified as A. Tarabay, M. El Khatib, W. Smith, along with aerial views of Tortola, Maria’s By The Sea, and the Greenhouse Restaurant. They also plan to show jurors photos of the supposed drug money.

God is watching all including these colonial people. The people of the BVI please take heed. Those who have ears and eyes let them see and hear. These colomial official people are like the mafia. They have evil spiritual people hired as consultants in many law enforcement areas and paying them out of tax payers money to guide them and show them who is against their agenda and how to eliminate them while making it look like their hands are clean. This is real but the people are fast a sleep by their design. Look at who all died or they moved out of the way but make it look like their hands are clean with S***, C***, W***, F****, the white UK officer that died, N***, M****n, just to name a few that they know are a threat to what they trying to achieve. Look out this week for them to do something drastically major to further abuse their powers and instill more fear in the people to warn them not to interfere with their wicked agenda. The BVI people need to pray and unite against this colonial dragon or they will be in bondage crying for years. This is for real just watch this week and see

Apparently Head Coach allegedly had communications with those reported individuals prior to his arrest. Is the prosecution suggesting that those communications were in some way improper or the named individuals were part of some larger conspiracy?

Clearly, after his arrest they seized his communication devises (phone, computer), and subpoenaed his phone records. It's clear to me they have gone all out to get Head Coach.

I have not skin in this game, however, I would think the Defense surely will have a rebuttal for those communications and what the prosecution may be thinking about those communications & individuals may have other perhaps innocent explanations.

We shall see how this plays out in court.

Please hold them up bolo until they are extradited. Let all the anti British continue to speak about witch hunt. That is why the British need to move in so that we hold every last one of them. It is surprising that a particular name not on the list as yet honestly speaking.

Oh my!!! The Premier called people before he was arrested LOL isn't that what phones are for? So if he called me does that mean I am involved in his scheme? He could've called me for legitimate business or for no business just hail up. It's funny the simplicity of thinking we have around here. What about the people who called him, will their names also be released? I mean people needed to speak with him up to the time he got arrested. So what does it all mean?

The world is looking at us with disgust. In my opinion this all started when the BVI refused to extradite *** ******. We all know he was the biggest drug dealer in the Caribbean. What did we expect would happen. The US is the most powerful nation in the world. When we refused to extradite B*** we signed our death sentence. Now the US and UK will do anything to bring our beloved territory to its knees. The end is near.

@ The Street... So this is your take - away from all the charges, his affidavits, the Maynard's matter and ALL that you have read so far???. How can you state that EVERYONE knows that Fahie is not in drugs? I personally don't know whether he is or isn't and I'm sure I speak for many persons when I say that.

It is your opinion and I respect that. Honestly though, the reason you gave for Fahie being in the situation he's in right now just have me shaking my head in disbelief.
  • TO VINO (18/01/2024, 21:06) Like (5) Dislike (6) Reply
I am glad you brought up Fahie matter because whether he is guilty or not the court in USA will decide. The BVI Street knows what really took place and why. What is alarming is allegedly the Governor & Commissioner of Police worked with Fahie and the Government while trying to keep the BVI people alive during covid and Fahie did a good job. While doing this they did not like Fahie at all because of how he stood up against their evil and high handedness. It was known by most they would do anything to get rid of him so they worked with a foreign country to come in BVI to try to set him up and then they pretend like their hands are clean. I am not for nor against Fahie. What I am saying it shows these UK Commissioner & Governor & UK officials are no better than a murderer or a terrorist when they want to try to eliminate you. This is extremely alarming and it tells they cannot be trusted as they are capable of any unethical or unthinkable actions to eliminate anyone who resist their plot even if treason is committed but not admitted. The people of BVI should be concerned as this is not good in the 21st century.
