WICKHAMS CAY, Tortola, VI - Coconut Lounge located at the Cyril B. Romney Tortola Pier Park describes itself as a quaint and sophisticated restaurant and bar offering fast-casual dining and a unique social experience.

The restaurant located at the second floor of building one in the C.B. Romney Tortola Pier Park is described as a hidden gem where Deputy CEO of Tortola Pier Park Limited (TPPL) Zoe J. Walcott and JTV reporter Cathy O. Richards were given a partial tour of the offerings of the Lounge as part of a live feature called 'In your Kitchen' streamed live on Facebook.

Hurricanes just a stumbling block

Started in September of 2017 as a new addition to the Cyril B. Romney Tortola Pier Park, the Owner Kenny Thompson said the establishment was opened the Sunday before Hurricane Irma.

In an unexpected turn of events, the Lounge found itself picking up the pieces after the hurricane battered the establishment.

“Fortunately, our patrons could rest assured that this was not the end, but in fact just the beginning – of our story. In an inspiring portrayal of resilience and redemption, we recuperated and relaunched the business with a grand opening event in November 2018,” the Lounge said in a website post.

Since that time, Coconut Lounge has evolved from a quaint and sophisticated bar lounge to a full-blown restaurant which also offers bistro-style dining and is renowned as the “cozy, comfortable, and contemporary” spot.

As part of its services, the Lounge also offers a unique and sociable experience complete with spectacular service and a luxurious ambience.

Extensive menu

Coconut Lounge remains a premier spot to dine-in or take-out with menu options that include scrumptious pasta, burgers, and pizzas with a specially crafted selection of wines, beers, and cocktails.

“In addition to our delectable food and drinks menus, Coconut Lounge has become one of the most sought-after venues for the hosting of a wide range of private events – baby showers, birthday parties, pageant reveals, and the list goes on,” the business said.

One of the major initiatives of the restaurant its ‘Acoustic Sundays’ event, which is an ode to artists and the stories that inspire them.

Owner Kenny said persons can enjoy music from a variety of musical instruments as 'Acoustic Sundays' boast a mesmerizing ambience, musical renditions, and captivating storytelling and was described as a 'can't miss' event in the VI.

Coconut Lounge said it will continue to thrive, evolve, inspire and grow as its customer base grows, “We aspire to offer and provide the very best to those who trust us with not only their meals but with their memories.”

2 hours max waiting time to get food. Place order by phone, show up to pickup after 45 minutes, still have to wait another hour. Lunch or evening, same. Very disappointed. Happened three times. Need to speed up the work behind in the kitchen.

This is usually a management Issue. Glad you brought it to social media. When Managers favor workers and not hold them responsible and accountable for not doing their Jobs.
