Business Watch: Aromas Cigar & Martini Bar
The business, which is also one of the most popular sports bars in the territory, has been at Cyril B. Romney Tortola Pier Park from its inception 8 years ago and continues to stand out for its exceptional business strategies and versatility.
Local & international recognition
It was recently featured in the Florida Caribbean Cruise Association Travel & Cruise 1st Quarter Magazine and continues to receive rave reviews on international travel blogs.
The business also boasts the employment of mixologist and cigar rolling specialist Siddharth Hedge aka ‘Sid’, the winner of the 2023 International Crafted Competition in the VI and also a finalist in the 2024 International Crafted Cocktail Competition held in Barbados in February.
“They were here when it all began and have created quite a niche. In fact, they are the first ever cigar lounge in the [British] Virgin Islands,” commented Deputy CEO of Tortola Pier Park Limited (TPPL) Zoe J. Walcott said about Aromas Cigar and Martini Bar on Retail Therapy & In Our Kitchen aired live on JTV Channel 55 on Thursday, May 16, 2024.
A taste of Aromas Cigar & Martini Bar
Walcott and JTV reporter Cathy O. Richards, as part of the feature, were given a partial tour of the offerings of Aromas Cigar and Martini Bar by owner Sean Palmer.
Mr Palmer introduced the ladies to the accessories and vape section, where customers have a variety of accessories to choose from, including the popular T-shirts.
It was then on to the cigar cabinet where the cigars are kept at the right temperature to ensure “everyone gets a fresh cigar every time,” Mr Palmer stated.
It was shown that Aromas Cigar and Martini Bar has a wide range of cigars, including from Nicaragua, Dominican Republic, Honduras and Cuba, as well as its own “in house brand of cigars.”
There are also the “mild and flavoured cigars” for the novices.
And then there are the really high-end cigars, including the 24-carat gold-wrapped Daniel Marshall Cigars which go at quite a pretty penny, only $700.00 a pack.
According to ‘Sid’, customers are given the option of rolling their own cigars if they so wish. He is always right there to guide them, just as he did for Ms Richards, who did an excellent job of rolling her first cigar as an impressed Walcott looked on.
It was soon time to visit the well-stocked bar manned by Tasha aka Spice and ‘Rev’, along with ‘Sid’.
Over 15 flavours of mojitos!
Aromas Cigar and Martini Bar is well known for its refreshing mojitos and cocktails. Over 15 different flavours of mojitos are available at the bar. In fact, Aromas Cigar and Martini Bar is promoting “Mojito Fest BVI”, from May 4 to June 8, 2024.
Walcott and Richards were given a taste of the mojitos and cocktails and the ladies were more then impressed with not just the taste but the creativity and effort put into making the drinks.
A place to relax
Once the ladies had their taste at the bar it was time to visit the outside lounge to enjoy the view and relax with the soothing sea breeze, just as many patrons choose to do.
Walcott gave kudos to Aromas Cigar and Martini Bar for expanding their product offering and being a place where both residents and tourists enjoy.
She reminded that, apart from a sports bar, it is a place for celebrations, including birthdays, anniversaries, Mother’s Day, and of course Father’s Day celebrations, and even a mental health day!
