5.2 magnitude earthquake shakes VI
According to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), the tremor was felt 70 km East Southeast of Road Town, Virgin Islands, at 7:21pm, at a depth of 100 km.
The Department of Disaster Management (DDM) reported that preliminary information is that there was a magnitude 5.3 earthquake but did not state its source of information.
DDM said no tsunami watch or warning issued with this event.
'Felt it shake quite hard'
Persons on Tortola, as well as the Sister Islands, have already taken to Facebook to relate their experience.
"Heard the rumble then felt it shake quite hard in JVD," a Kim John stated.
"Felt shaking and heard rumble, then a boom, continued shaking, rattled the windows, then second smaller shake.
