PETER ISLAND, VI- Two nationals of India were detained as illegal migrants on Peter Island on April 25, 2024.

According to reports reaching our newsroom, one of the illegal migrants suffered a serious leg injury while attempting to escape capture and had to be taken to Dr D. Orlando Smith Hospital.

The Department of Immigration has since asked the public to remain vigilant both on land and at sea for any suspicious persons or activity as they seek to locate more illegal migrants reported to be in the Territory.

Tip-off leads to capture of illegal migrants

The Department of Immigration said it received a tip of suspected illegal migrant activity on Peter Island on April 25, 2024.

"The department then sought the assistance of other law enforcement agencies, HM Customs and the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF), which activated the Joint Task Force.

"Two Indian national migrants have since been located and it is suspected that at least ten other migrants of varying nationalities remain on the island," the Department of Immigration stated in a press release on April 27, 2024.

It said the officers of the Joint Task Force continue to search the island and other locations for the remaining migrants.

Anyone with relevant information should contact the Department of Immigration at 468-4705, 468-4717, 468-4754 or the RVIPF at 311.

Its unfortunate to say but i don't think that person is of sound mind. What the person wrote isn't relevant to the article. I have seen them blog on the different bvi online platforms and is often left flabbergasted as to what they are attempting to say. Its really sad.

These Boat people who are taking these people last dime, some even borrow hoping for a better life in St. Thomas only to be dropped off on an Isolated unpopulated area to be caught by police. I am wondering when these same Boat people show up for another load why they not executed. Since BVI authority not taking this matter seriously. Makes me wonder, how difficult it is to connect an ocean radar on the top of the new marine base building to track and alert all incoming vessels into BVI waters..

I cannot believe with all of the people being duped and stranded in the BVI, that they haven't sent word back that these boat Captains are swindling them, and not to fall for it anymore. Plus the Captains can drown them at sea and abscond with all of their money.

BVI a nice destination for illegals compared to where they're coming from. Many more in the US of course.
Technically they BVI government was easy going about this, though mostly sticking to its own laws for a while.
However, England itself while allowing many many foreign nationals into England to live, truly does not like the
other kind of 'alien' to be in the United Kingdom anywhere. They hate the EXTRATERRESTRIAL kind. If British
Stinky Service finds that one of THOSE has gotten into a territory under the disguise of being a human from another
well known country on Earth - they hit the ceiling. Its actually kind of funny, but has a tragic ending - for England.

So what you are saying it doesn't have boarder control i am asking
    • Z (29/04/2024, 07:19) Like (6) Dislike (0) Reply
That was my first question. Who is responsible for border control in bvi and why are we not hearing from them. They say the public must look out for strange activity on the water. So you mean the same British who constructed forts all over the island to sink enemy ships does not have the modern day equipment to keep the borders safe? Where is the national security? Who is preventing them from doing their jobs?
