2 Albanians fined $1K for Illegal Entry; To be deported

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Two Albanians have been arrested and charged by police for entering into the Territory illegally.

According to the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF), in its Arrest Blotter for February 2-8, 2020, Albanian nationals Valdet Tafhasaj, 38, and Fatlind Cenaj, 18, were arrested by police on February 3, 2020 and charged the same day for Illegal Entry.

They both appeared before the Magistrate’s Court and were fined $1,000 each and are scheduled to be deported from the Territory.

Also on February 3, 2020, police arrested and charged Rafael Torres J. Guerrero, a 31-year-old Venezuelan National for Illegal Entry. He appeared before the Magistrate’s Court and was fined $1,000 and is scheduled to be deported from the Territory.

BURGLARY

On 05-02-20 at 1900hrs, Police arrested and charged Keithroy Joseph, 31 of East End for Burglary, Assault on Police and Disorderly Conduct in a Public Place. He was granted bail in the amount of $10,000 with one signed surety to appear before the Magistrate’s Court on 19-03-20 at 0900hrs.

CRIMINAL TRESPASS

On 04-02-20 at 2316hrs, Police arrested and charged Gabriela Jacobus, 27 of Parham Town for Criminal Trespass and 2 counts of Common Assault. She was granted bail in the amount of $5,000 with one signed surety to appear before the Magistrate’s Court on 18-03-20 at 0900hrs.

HANDLING STOLEN GOODS

On 07-02-20 at 1400hrs, Police arrested and charged Makebo Fahie, 24 of No fixed place of abode for Handling Stolen Goods. He was granted bail in the amount of $10,000 with one signed surety to appear before the Magistrate’s Court on 23-03-20 at 0900hrs.

POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED DRUG

On 07-02-20 at 1100hrs, Police arrested and charged Rashawn Donovan, 24 of Long Swamp for Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Drug. He was granted bail in the amount of $7,000 with one signed surety to appear before the Magistrate’s Court on 23-02-20 at 0900hrs.

RECKLESS AND NEGLIGENT ACT

On 03-02-20 at 1500hrs, Police arrested and charged Ernest Procope, 68 or Handsome Bay, Virgin Gorda for Reckless and Negligent Act, Unroadworthy Vehicle, Broken Tail Light, Failing to Carry Along Driver’s Permit on Person. Traveling Backwards with Vehicle more than Requisite, Failing to Comply with a Lawful Signal from a Police Officer and Driving Motor Vehicle without Seatbelt. He was granted bail in the amount of $3,000 with one signed surety to appear before the Magistrate’s Court on 03-03-20 at 0900hrs.

    The bvi is the only country in the Caribbean that is serious about illegal immigrants.

    People in the bvi should be proud of bvi authorities for ensuring that all persons living in the bvi are accounted for.

    Persons entering the bvi illegally, must be given a custodial sentence at HMP before deportation.
