"These lil punks" just drive away or ditch and run.
Or worse, the cops know if they corner the same one he'll pull out his gun and start blasting away.
So, the unarmed police in a cruiser just drives on.

He was out on bail for some gun related charges. These police are a waste of time. The entire force needs to be sent home.

Obviously a very sad turn of events for this young man and his family. The deceased was reportedly out on bail and awaiting trial for a gun-related matter. Play with feathers, get yer bum tickled. These youths need to be getting into education and employment not gangs.

Ah yes dont worry about this guys just keep fighinting the police bill and cyber crime bill that empowers police to fight crime and win cases with harder facts.

keep fighting about it while the youths gun down each other and live a criminal lifestyle.

everything good over here we dont need no police bill or cyber crime bill

This is heart breaking. Condolences to the family of the deceased. It’s time to take a serious look at our youth policy and try to find ways to replace criminal behavior with productivity.

Our government needs to invest in the same technology that is used in the USVI so that they can respond quickly when shots are fired in all gun related incidents. The response time to this incident was good and I hope that they will continue on this trend.

Bad parenting, this generation of parents under 40years old failed our country. TV and social media are raising the kids while mothers are out there on the streets and to every pan knock trying to bag a so call money man tying to get a man to take care of them financially and don’t forget the fathers who father a children and abandoned them and left the single mothers out here struggling to take care of 2 or 3 bad children. Parents please do better at raising these kids.

As one poster noted, the police being unarmed cause them to just drive past those who are clearly up to no good. And yet, when someone proposes arming the police, those same people who criticize them as being ineffective will howl without outrage about the dangers of armed police. Unarmed police are predicated upon a "policing by consent" model that is a long-outdated anachronism that has no relationship to the reality of modern-day thuggery.

How is this not first page news? So cruel we ready to move on as if nothing happened once again. Who is his parents and see if they had the shooter from pleasant valley on camera they could have a lead to follow. Gun shots one night a murder next night. Doesnt take inspector gadget to link the two. First night might have been a test. But because they were not apprehended they got a chance to murder. Wow.

Then they want to know why we dont respect the police asking for help. People get killed under their security in populated areas time & time again.
