Xiomara Malone qualifies for Carifta long jump
Malone lept a distance of 5.27m to surpass the VI Carifta Games qualifying standard of 5.25m in the long jump while competing at the Highlander Relays in Orlando, Florida last weekend.
Her leap was also good enough for 1st place in the long jump.
Malone has already qualified in the 100m hurdles and high jump.
She had clocked a time of 15.11 in the 100m hurdles to surpass the Carifta Games qualifying standard of 15.25 at the Brian Jaeger Elite Classic in Florida earlier this month.
The young athlete had also jumped 1.63m in the High Jump at the Deltona Invitational in Florida back in February to surpass the Carifta Games qualifying standard of 1.55m.
The 47th Flow Carifta Games will be held from March 30 to April 2, 2018 at the Thomas A. Robinson National Stadium in Nassau, The Bahamas.
