ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Works Minister Hon. Mark H. Vanterpool has chosen to steer clear of the controversy surrounding statements made by First District Representative Hon. Andrew A. Fahie during his Annual Report given to the district earlier this month.

During his Annual Report to the people of the First District delivered on January 18, 2014, at the Capoon’s Bay Recreational Grounds, Hon. Fahie charged that the National Democratic Party’s (NDP) ‘questionable actions’, among other things, were aimed at bullying the public and trying to keep them blind.

Hon. Fahie made repeated references to an un-named ‘bald headed’ Minister of government making threats to dig up things done by the Virgin Islands Party (VIP) if questions continue to be asked of the NDP in the House of Assembly (HOA).

Hon Fahie alleged, “…a bald headed Minister [tried] to threaten me that if the Opposition doesn’t stop asking them questions they would have to go back to the files and try to dig up some kind of dirt and then try to use it to destroy members of the Opposition.”

Recently, Minister for Education and Culture Hon. Myron V. Walwyn was reported in sections of the media as being critical of the statements made by Hon. Fahie, adding that he was surprised by the remarks.

Hon. Walwyn reportedly said he felt no Minister had approached Hon. Fahie with any threats.

However, when asked to comment on the issue, Hon. Vanterpool said he had no comment and added, “I don’t want to get into that battle, let him and Minister Walwyn and Minister [Ronnie W.] Skelton Battle it out.”

Hon. Vanterpool did not comment on whether he felt the remarks made by Hon. Fahie were in poor taste as was reportedly done by Hon. Walwyn.

This is such an embarrassment to the entire BVI. The world is laughing at our childish ways and will make them feel this little place is easy to take over because of these immature actions of our so called leaders. SO EMBARRASSING. Wish we had an entire new political party to replace each and every one of them.

The4 BVI has come to be a real cirdus. Can grown adults who are so call Hon. Representatives of this Territory behaving like a set of clowns. They just make the BVI look smaller than the dot that is on the map. Come on Fahie, Walwyn is now the Minister for Education accept it, it was not you possition to keep. It just seems to me that you cannot come to terms with it. This ia a disgrace for you guys to be behaving like a set OF CLOWNS and then to think of it you call yourselvers LEADERS. Boy oh Boy.

The BVI is not a circus. There are many things happening in BVI with the youth and otherwise but these are the s#!t people like so the media will cover these.

Obviously you either didn't hear fahie's speech or didn't read it because in the speech there is no where where he mentioned Myron or anything about him in education. Very soon this pity card being played by Myron that fahie is jealous of him will run out & the masses will see exactly who he really is, just give time a chance.

What about all the poor children reading this? If this is the example for them...then they are doomed. Fahie cannot accept that he is no longer in charge. He had years to prove himself, and the children were failing miserably. Let us see what Myron can do now, it has to be better than what they haven't been given all these years. Got to give him a chance, and so far, he is doing a better job. It is about the children, not Fahie!

Myron & his high paid over paid Ppublic Relations team get an A+ for coming up with a response to Fahie's speech that has nothing to do with the issues raised in the speech but rather just to distract the public from the many questionable actions by the NDP that is going to put this country in trouble. Time will tell.
