Work begins on new Jost van Dyke Primary School
Quality Construction Limited has been awarded the contract for the building of the new school to the tune of $4,333, 743.86.
"It brings us great pleasure to share that this morning works commenced as scheduled, on the Jost van Dyke Primary School project.
In addition, contractors, skilled laborers and heavy equipment operators from the JVD community convened at Ali Baba restaurant in Great Harbour at their first meeting to ensure that workers from the community continue to be involved in the completion of this project," a statement on the Turnbull for Change Facebook page detailed.
It said Honourable Turnbull wishes to thank Mr Roy A. Garraway aka 'Yellow' of Quality Construction Ltd. for staying true to the timeline thus far and being intentional about involving the people of the Jost van Dyke community.
"This is public-private partnership at work for the people, by the people," the Turnbull for Change Facebook page stated.
The Turnbull for Change Facebook page promotes Second District Representative Hon Melvin M. Turnbull.

Its time to make money so they should be happy.
How much was spent on Enis Adams? About 2mil+ How many classrooms? Did the money spent there buy more because of it's colour?
JVD - 4mil+ ; How many classrooms? Cost of barge trucking - water???? blocks? sand? steel? cement? wood? How many trips? trucking to site? For argument sake - 1mil?
Contractor - 1mil+?
Put up building - 2mil?
Multipurpose use - nonsense! A school should be a dedicated space!
Just the same, how does creating empty spaces contribute to 2mil?
OK...the contractor is responsible for furnishing!
