Woman arrested for smuggling contraband into HMP
According to the Police Blotter for May 26-June 1, 2019, on May 31, 2019 at 21:54pm, Police arrested and charged Tonia Mella, of Cane Garden Bay for Smuggling contraband into Her Majesty’s Prison.
Mella was granted bail in the sum of $10,000 with one signed surety and is to appear before the Magistrate’s Court in John’s Hole on July 15, 2019 at 9:00am.
Murder
On May 26, 2019 at 11:00pm, Police arrested and charged Rohan Williams, 37, a Vincentian National residing at Great Mountain, Tortola for Murder. He appeared before the Magistrate’s Court, John’s Hole and was remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison to reappear before the Magistrate’s Court on July 24, 2019.
Driving Drunk While In Charge Of A Motor Vehicle
On May 30, 2019 at 22:00pm, Police arrested and charged Rudolph Victor, 61, A Guyanese National residing at Long Trench, Tortola for Driving Drunk While in Charge of a Motor Vehicle.
Victor was granted bail in the sum of $5000 with one signed surety; to appear before the Magistrate’s Court, John’s Hole, on July 10, 2019 at 0900am.

I can’t say what frame of mind the lady was in but surely her actions were foolish and now has found herself on the wrong side of the law. Women no matter how much we love a man at the same time we ought be smart and law abiding citizens. Smuggling contraband into the prison is a serious offense. I do hope she has learned her lesson and the Magistrate exercise mercy when handing down her sentence.
