ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Events promotors C&C Promotions recently donated $2500.00 to Women In Need BVI (WINBVI) towards its cervical cancer awareness.

The donation came from proceeds from a recent C&C Promotions event, VI PinkNic 2025, held on February 1, 2025, where Dr Arlene T. Penn shared with attendees.

Dr Penn, who spearheads the ‘Know>Fix>Live>WIN’ campaign, said: “I was so happy for that opportunity because it gave me an opportunity then to speak to your audience about the importance of not just cervical cancer awareness but the human papillomavirus.”

STI Numbers are increasing- Dr Penn

Dr Penn, who is the Mrs BVI 2022, said the number of cases of Sexually Transmitted Illnesses (STIs) continues to rise.

“We want to make sure that we are able to lower those numbers. So it was good to be there in the presence of the young people and even the older people and then the not-so-old and even little, little younger because then I was able to share the word,” she added.

Issues plaguing women often ‘brushed under the rug’- Mrs Alicia Green

The check was presented by CEO of C&C Promotions Ms Wendy J. Glasco.

Director of WINBVI Mrs Alicia Green, thanked C&C Promotions for recognising the work they do.

“The awareness that we bring to the community, we feel is very important because, for a number of years, a lot of things that have been plaguing women have been brushed under the rug…cervical cancer, is definitely one of them that brought shame and made women feel less of themselves,” Mrs Green said.

Meanwhile, the BVI Cancer Society also received a $2500.00 cash donation from C&P Promotions.

In a social media post, C&C Promotions said, “We are honoured to support their ongoing efforts in the fight against cancer and contribute to raising awareness, providing resources, and offering vital assistance to those affected by this devastating disease.”

@BRAD BOYNES You appear to have Coprolalia. You need to wash your mouth out with a good dose of Clorox and Pine Sol. All your comments appear vile, toxic, and filled with obscenity.
