Will Sharon Flax Mars be the BVITB’s next Chairman?
According to Virgin Islands News Online sources inside the new administration, Sharon Flax-Mars, who resigned as a member of the BVITB on August 5, 2010, is one of the names that have been circulating as a possible candidate for the position.
When contacted by Virgin Islands News Online last week on the subject, Flax-Mars said she did not wish to comment.
Flax-Mars who had served on the board for some seven years prior to her resignation with immediate effect on August 5 last year, had tendered her resignation a little more than a week after then Chairman Myron Walwyn, now Minister for Education and Culture had also resigned.
Talks of more changes in top level positions
Meanwhile, information reaching Virgin Islands News Online is that there may be more changes to come within the Tourist Board’s top level position. However, there has been no confirmation of resignation by any other top management official to pave way for any new appointments.
At his swearing in ceremony on Wednesday November 9, 2011 at the Sir Rupert Briercliffe Hall, Premier Dr. D. Orlando Smith had told Virgin Islands News Online that he will be looking at the structure the TB’s board to make it more effective.
