There is a big controversy in the Caribbean.  The question is who is greater God or Satan? Who has the most power, God or the Devil?  What kind of a foolish question is that?  Of course, God has the most power. God is greater than Satan; that is the fundamental of life.

Power & Evil

In Chemistry, we learn about the empirical formula. Well just so in life the fact that God has more power than the Devil is the empirical formula of life.  We should live our lives by this principle, and we could never go wrong.  Too many of our Caribbean brothers and sisters believe in witchcraft, Obeah, voodoo, and necromancy.

Such belief is in the power of evil.  Witchcraft and its related evils control people’s minds.  If one mind is control he/she cannot communicate with God.  When you pray you are praying to your father the devil. People who believe in witchcraft do evil things because their spirits are controlled by the devil and his demons. 

Witchcraft is of the devil so it definitely destroys you in the end. The belief in witchcraft and Obeah is a way of life in the other Caribbean Islands.  People from the other Caribbean island always talk about what witchcraft has the power to do.  Sad to say that is all they know. Too many people in the other Caribbean islands use witchcraft to destroy their enemies and people who them wrong. 

Yes, witchcraft has the power to destroy because it is the channel through wish the devil works.  The devil has power; you better believe that. Thank God, he does not have more power than the Almighty God.  The British Virgin Islands is a Christian Society.  There is some sad and sick British Virgin Islands who believe in Witchcraft.  How foolish.  In this society, we preach against witchcraft and it related evils.  God is exalted in this society as the Supreme and Sovereign God.

Let Christ reign

With an influx of so many people and cultures in our small society and so many religious convictions, as a people, we must see to it that Christ reigns supreme in the land.  No witchcraft or necromancy is going to control the British Virgin Islands.  Witchcraft and Obeah keep people in the ghut.   Life is hard and difficult in those other Caribbean Islands because of the Obeah that controls the islands.  Haiti is an island that is destroyed by witchcraft.

Only God can lift us up out of the abyss of degradation and shame.  I believe in the slogan of the Virgin Islands’ party– backward never forward ever.  Witchcraft or Obeah will compete with God on this island.  We will crush the devil and his evil forces.  No demon in hell or power on earth can conquer a child of God. 

We must stand on the solid rock which is Jesus Christ. I personally cannot stand the Devil.  He is nothing more than an ignorant beast.  People who have the devil in them cannot conquer people who have the power of God in every fingertip.  My brothers and sisters do not run from the devil.

The Bible says to resist the devil, and he will flee from you.  In this society we who call ourselves Christians should carry ourselves with dignity and respect, confident that God runs things in the British Virgin Islands.  For example, whatever is the outcome of the election will be according to God’s will. 

God is Supreme

God does nothing wrong. Whatever God does, he does it for his glory. He is a just and loving God and has the best interest of His people at heart.  Many times God creates a situation so that he can show himself strong.  Do you remember the story of Joseph, Moses, and David?  The problem with many of us is that we do not read the Bible. 

The Bible is the most read book in the world.  When we read the Bible, God leaps out of the pages to us and the stories come alive.  The life of the child of God is not one of the suffering martyrs.  That is a myth!  When we have a relationship with Jesus we are unstoppable.

We become an invincible force. Our strength should be manifested as quiet confidence in our God.  Brothers and sisters, we should remember that Jesus Christ is the conquering Lion of Judah and He will break every chain and give us the victory again and again. The secret to living a victorious life is to keep your heart pure. 

Never let hate and bitterness fester in your spirit.  Always be quick to forgive those who do you wrong. Turn the other cheek; we should pattern our lives from the man Christ Jesus.  Although Jesus was one with his father, He always acknowledged His Father, God, as the head.  We too much always acknowledge God as the sovereign God of our lives. 

The void in our lives cannot be satisfied by money, education, sex or anything else.  That void can only be filled by God.  Thank God Almighty that void in my life has been filled with Jehovah God.  I seek nothing else in life but for grace to love and trust him more.  Truly I can sing with the songwriter it is amazing how he loves me, it is amazing how he cares, through his blood I am pardoned and my sins are all washed away.  Through Christ we are winners.

Witchcraft Destroys

Finally, it is witchcraft; Obeah and voodoo that have destroyed many of those other Caribbean Islands.  The devil controls when there is so much violence, hate and corruption in the land.  The bible says that the Devil comes to steal, kill and to destroy.  The Bible says that righteousness exalts a nation but sin is a reproach to any people. 

My Caribbean brothers and sisters let us stop fighting and tearing down each other.  We must come to realize that it is Devil that has us destroying each other.  We must learn to love and share love one to another.   Love is the strongest force in the world because love is Christ.  Love heals our wounds and mends the broken heart. We are not pit bulls; we are human beings created in God’s image; consequently, we should be more civil. 

As a people, we should carry ourselves with respect and dignity at all times.  Slavery has been abolished since 1834.  We are no longer under the Slave master’s whip.  We are free people! Thank God Almighty we are free at last.  Don’t become enslave to witchcraft, Obeah, voodoo and necromancy because these evil forces would control your mind, destroy you and drag you in the ghut and keep you there. 

Let Jesus lift you up higher and higher and transform your life through the power of love. My brothers and sisters do not be afraid of the darkness of this world for truly God stands in the shadows watching over His own.
