When bad leaders create local heroes
Bullies Normally Pick on the Weakest Ones:
Freedom of Choice is claimed by the masses, so no one is compelled to heed my warnings about the dangers exhibited by Donald J. Trump... Sometimes I wished that I was wrong, but it became clear that things were getting worse as every headline screamed of his Lies, atrocities and illegal behaviour… Some believed that by being quiet and going along to get along, they would escape his fire and fury, but they were wrong.
They learnt that not because you don’t kill the Snake means that the Snake will not kill you, and that relying on the karma that what goes around comes around fails to consider the damage done before it gets around... Clearly, the Caribbean had no Dogs in this Fight, but that didn’t stop him from imposing Doomsday Tariffs on us, and pleading or wishing for a change of heart, will never solve our problems.
Trump seems to attract Natural and Manmade disasters like Hurricane Irma and COVID-19, but we managed to survive... We too seem stuck on recurring battles for survival, and we are only here because those before succeeded…However, even Cats with 9 lives eventually die, and I’m not sure what number we have reached, so we must treat this one as if it is the last.
His level of evil is based on inflicting pain and suffering rather than on empathy or solutions, and we have already contributed to his Agenda through the waste and mismanagement of our meager Resources and Opportunities… Bear in mind that in a Recession, there are limited Monies to spend on Tourism or IBCs, so such a Crisis could threaten our Income Generators and place us at an extreme disadvantage.
No more Trickledown Scraps from Massa’s Table
We are not a Resource-rich Country... We are a trickledown Territory, and there will be those who see this as an opportunity to take advantage of the situation... In times such as these, we need the wisdom of Solomon, the actions of David, and the realisation that we are our Brother’s Keepers... Now more than ever, we must work together, for this too shall pass, and so shall the wicked.
This is a point in time when Political Malfeasance and Corruption should cease, and every second of opportunity should be converted into days of productivity… Instead of the habitual money squandering, we must learn to stretch a Dime into a Dollar, and let the local Breadfruit furlough the Baker... Let the UK have their 4-day work week, but we should be ready to utilise all 6 or 7 days.
This will be a major challenge because we have grown accustomed to wasting the little we have… There is no doubt that my warnings about the inherent wastage of Holidays will be realized from this Crisis, as will the importance of learning from the experience and hardships of others… For this, China is the perfect example, for while others mocked her hunger and ignorance, she improved on her products and brilliance.
Just a Few Lessons from China:
Her rise from bottom to top, is no accident, and we can see this in steps she took, that others ridiculed... When her population was more than the state could afford, she restricted families to one child, and mandated that Children must care for their elderly parents... We do the opposite; we get Children we cannot afford, and dump our Parents in Hospices, as we await their Will and transfer of Inheritance.
With her Rare Natural Resources and massive population, she is able to produce and consume like few other Nations, which makes her self-sufficient... However, she increases her base through peace rather than War, as she creates the Belt and Road Initiative in order to reach and supply everyone with her goods and services... We produce nothing but are quick to put restrictions on our West Indian Brothers and Sisters.
Instead of Minimum Wage deception, she subsidises ways and means to ensure local ownership as she trains her people in all aspects of business while providing them with Education and Health Care… Meanwhile, the UK and US are reducing access to Health Care and Education, while we sell off our Children’s Birthrights and use our Labour, Health and Resources Departments to derail or block locals.
China’s examples will stake longer than time allows, but you have the idea and can do your own research… The point is, because she was threatened and ridiculed before, she learnt that it was better to be prepared... America plays the Alpha, while many of us act like Betas, but China is a Sigma, and it is unwise to trouble the quiet ones since you never know what resources they have and are willing to use.
Trumpism – The Fall of America & Survival of the Fittest:
Whether foreign or local, we are more alike than different... When I warned that Trump would destroy America, I almost doubted myself because although I saw the trend, it was hard to believe that anyone could be so foolish or destructive... However, he is doing a good job at it… In less than 6 months, he was able to destroy all sense of Trust and Respect, and turned the Free World against America.
With the Internet as our Librarian and Teacher, Universities are placed in the palm of our hands, and it’s not hard to see that even those pretending to be with him are secretly praying for the collapse... At the same time, we still insist on being near-sighted and narrow-minded, to the point of being willing Victims, who are more comfortable being followers than leaders, and quicker to join in condemnation than revelation.
We absorb Trump’s constant brag about America being so Special that it is more beneficial for her to stand apart from the rest of the World... The opposite is true, and we saw this with Brexit... According to the God of Nature and Laws of Balance, Isolation could result in a net gain of Zero, whereas, a simple union of One plus One, results in a sum of Three or more... Her Enemies know this, so they join forces.
It is also ironic that we lament about Elon and Donald firing their Government Employees, but we ignore the fact that this is exactly what the US-controlled IMF has been doing to the Caribbean People for the past decades... It reminds me of teaching our Children to cry about the Easter Crucifixion Story of a Jew, but not teaching them to care or prevent the Modern-day lynching of their own Brothers and Sisters.
While it is okay to learn Empathy, it should never obliterate the lessons of Reality... We complain about Bad Leadership, but if we look closely, we may see that it is because of bad leaders that good people are created... Think about it… If we got all we wanted, how we wanted and when we wanted, there would be no need to develop our potential… Only when faced with bad leaders will the heroes within us arise.
Maybe Trump and Musk will awaken your dormant Heroes because we are up against the Wall, and Time is running out… Our survival depends on making the right decision, and the only ways forward are over it, under it, or through it, and the longer we take, the harder it gets… Having us wait on Imaginary Friends has always been their Trump Card, so if we fail to try and save ourselves, then tell me, who will?

Typically, empires/dynasties/civilizations, etc rise and fall; few rise from their fall. The Chinese may have beaten the the odds. The Chinese are engineering their rise again through a peaceful renaissance, a peaceful rise. It has ambitions of primacy in Asia and beyond. It has transformed a poor society by an economic miracle into becoming the second largest economy..Its strategy to becoming the primary global power is through economic action. The Chinese are deliberately patient, playing the long game. 2.6 billion eyes have high expectations and aspirations. It knows its growth is a function of imports, ie, energy, raw material, food, etc. It also needs exports, especially export to the US. Further, it is educating its youth in science, technology, business management, economics, english language , etc. In the mean time, China does not want to directly challenge the US, a stronger, more technologically advanced superpower; this is consistent with its peaceful rise strategy through economics. Nevertheless, the Chinese are trying to establish footprints outside of its borders , especially locales which the US may have pulled back from, viz, Caribbean, etc. Moreover, it is also focusing ion resource/ rich Africa for resources to meet the growing appetite for more consumer goods at home, as well as abroad. They are signing “debt trap” open access agreements with African countries. Africa and Africans continue to be exploited to their disadvantage. Closer to home in the Caribbean, countries may have to choose between the US and China. Is this a Hobson’s choice???
