Wheatley siblings Declan & Amia publish more children's books
Declan is a twelve-year grade seven student of the Elmore Stoutt High School who recently exited the Francis Lettsome Primary as the salutatorian. He has a passion for reading and writing and added that completing yet another book wasn’t hard for him.
Declan’s, “My Favorite Beaches in the British Virgin Islands” was his first publication and he had vowed to continue writing and publishing more books in the future with the love and support of his parents.
Now, he has added to his collection by writing something he loved doing with his family, which is visiting places to eat during moments of celebration.
"He already knew which restaurants he liked to visit and it was just a matter of putting it all together. He plans to keep writing and says to look out for him again next year," relatives related.
Author & Entrepeneur
Meanwhile, Amia Wheatley is an eleventh-grade student at the Elmore Stoutt High School. She dreams of one day becoming an obstetrician. She was previously featured on Virgin Islands News Online (VINO) as an author and entrepreneur who creates cakes and cupcakes for a variety of persons in the territory.
“She also enjoys face painting, which allows her to express her artistic side and for fun, she draws and paints and sometimes places her pieces in local stores to be sold to tourists that visit," Amia described herself in an autobiography.
Ms Wheatley added that she will continue to write to inspire children her age and younger and wants to show them they can and will be able to write books if they put their minds to it.
A relative of the duo, speaking to VINO, said the books have just arrived in the VI and, in addition to being available on Amazon, will be made available at local bookstores and distributed to local schools.
“The Many Hats That I Wear: Made in the British Virgin Islands” can be found on Amazon here and My Favorite Restaurants in the British Virgin Islands can be found here.

Proud to hear that students are doing great things.
So many students are filled with potentials. It will be good to see more young writers on the rise.
