ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Over the years, once you have travelled using the Native Son Ferry Service from the Road Town Ferry Dock on Tortola, you would have met Charles M. Martin aka ‘Be Be’.

The longtime worker of the ferry company passed away at Dr D Orlando Smith Hospital in Road Town, the capital city, on Saturday, May 18, 2024.

He was 63 years of age, having been born on December 6, 1961.

The deceased, who is survived by no children but many relatives and friends, also did part-time work with Ricky’s 24-hour Trucking & Sewage Disposal Services.

‘Be Be’ was also known for being very jovial and was often the life of the party. He became ill in the last few years and was at the Dr D. Orlando Smith Hospital.

When bebe was a young boy back in 1982-85 he was used by others to curse the island people with a plethora of expletives . Island people was intimidated by bebe who will call them " island boy or girl" he was nationalistic.

Island people are no saints themselves. Some behave the same way in their Country. They will spend the whole day speaking bad about BVI and yet they are here.

Besides I dont think Bebe has roots in the BVI correct me if im wrong.
Bebe just wanted to be heard, awaiting a response....ignore is the best remedy for these kind of nonsense.

@Eldred, Bebe is deeply rooted in the VI; both parents are Virgin Islanders; one from VG; other JVD.

Shame on those who encouraged him to do that cause at the end of the day, we will die and leave the island behind.

I am indeed saddened to hear of the death of Be Be. He was such a Jovial person who was very helpful to others. If my memory serves me well, I think he is from North Sound Virgin Gorda where is relatives are from. I missed him from the ferry dock, and I wondered where he was. May his soul Rest In Peace.

Bebe had all his mental capacity till the very end that was . Excuses so they didn't have to take care of him but God knows all

No one need to relegate bebe to status of from here or not, it's just a nostalgic picture of bebe days a a troublesome person with a nationalistic fervor. And even though he did this , it's a pain to see people that was a part of your youth growing up in the BVI is no more
