how can government find money to freely spend on foreign entertainers while some of the venders that provides services for the very same government goes through hell and high water to simply collect the few pennies that is due unto them: look around, some of your own brothers and sisters still wounded from 2017 hurricanes however administrations sees it fit to hand out the tax payers money for artists to come to the British Virgin Islands to sing for a few minutes: have nothing against the entertainment package or do I need any handouts from the administration but simply sitting back and observing the real situation...

@@@ Wize Up: just simply for your edification: for many many year our territory had top ranking musical entrainment: try to recall when BVI hosted top ranking events on cane garden bay(music fest)..my facts spoke about the 2017 hurricanes also spoke about the fact that some of our people still recovering also spoke about paying service providers with more urgency because the entertainers are paid upfront(live & direct) before arrival to BVI: there is more to life than the happy hour: my good friend my country was on the move long before 2019(take it easy my idren)

@ one good thing: back them it was a true virgin islands festival what we having now is a free for all: is it not funny how our people have to take the back seat while others waltz in and take over: local bands being sidelined for foreign entertainment: local band cant get paid but jamican and T&T groups paid in full: run talk that

Someone please tell me why it is necessary to bring in big name entertainers to celebrate BVI Emancipation? Someone please tell me why it is important and to whom it is important. Who are we pleasing and why. Every year this set of money is being sent out of the Territory through these artists and what do we get in return. I am struggling to understand. People have to spend $1,500 for a booth spot, $400 and upwards for a vendor spot; if you have a lil drink stand the VIFFC running you down to tax you, you can't bring your children in the village on certain nights because they charging $20 or more to enter; the Coney Island rides cost $5 and upwards; what part of this speaks of celebrating freedom?
