‘We should have 4 [music fests]- Claude O. Skelton-Cline
Mr Skelton-Cline was speaking on his first Honestly Speaking show on ZBVI 780 AM since June 27, 2023.
According to Skelton-Cline, the Virgin Islands is currently in survival mode and things need to happen to change that.
“There needs to be industry, business taking place in this country. Projects need to be stirring, projects need to be started, airports need to be built, Prospect Reef needs to be built, West End [Ferry Terminal] needs to be built, roads need to be built, Water and Sewerage [Department] needs to be built. There are low-hanging fruits to be had,” Mr Skelton-Cline stated on his show on Tuesday, May 14, 2024.
The commentator said he suspects the Government is working hard towards those things and some of them may be revealed at its Inaugural Territorial Address on Thursday, May 16, 2024.
People are hurting- Skelton-Cline
“People are hurting and we are out here talking about everything else, except what matters to people and what matters to people are always pocketbook issues.
“I hear some of you complaining they got two music fests. Hell, we should have four, whatever it is will help to create and stir the economy and turn some monies in the economy and allow people and vendors to make money. I am just saying to you we have to reimagine this country. We have to reimagine our tourism product, we have to reimagine our financial services, we have to reimagine how shipping takes place in this country...” Mr Skelton-Cline stated.
Meanwhile, the Virgin Islands Music Festival, being organised by the BVI Tourist Board, is slated to take place over the US Memorial Day Weekend, from May 24 to 26, 2024, on the plot of land behind Ralph T. O’Neal Administration Complex.
Premier and Minister of Finance Dr the Hon Natalio D. Wheatley (R7) has been criticised in some quarters for putting monies towards a music fest; however, he has defended his government's decision as an investment in the tourism product.
The One VI Music Fest, being put on by private promoters, will be held from June 28 to June 29, 2024, at Cane Garden Bay.

How times have changed.
Should be ashamed
These set of fake preachers who dancing with the devil while pretend to be Christians.
YOU CANNOT SERVE TWO MASTERS!!!!!
STOP USING GOD ALL WHILE LEADING PEOPLE ASTRAY!!!!
Here this sc**t
Pastor Gregory George should be applauded for calling out these wolves in sheep clothing.
They have people following them like sheep believing if these people who claim to be Christians are doing wrong that they could do it too instead of following God.
These performing pastors who are putting on a show have absolutely no shame or fear of God and the church members are no different defending these idols as so-called preachers that they worship.
These same people are more concerned with being friends with the world, being influencers and accepted by society rather than genuinely being obedient to God and His Word.
They are getting high off of being popular. It’s all about them and not about being disciples of Christ.
Christ never changed for the world. Remember that!
P
It take one to know one all of them is the same thing. Everyone trying to score brownie points.
CSC notes that people are stressed and hurting and argues that a music feast would be a distraction, albeit temporary, and would help to blow off some steam boosting their psyche and strengthening their to go on.,Sounds good but is it the best use of scarce dollars at this time? What is the cost benefit??
The truth does not set mankind free, his mind does!
The truth is this initiative will not sit well with the non-Afro-Black, non Caribbean for 1) he is a chronic naturally inclined apartist, 2) a disliker of human color, and 3) based on colonist history, deems himself entitled and privilege to settle wherever he choses without honoring local laws and rules.
Last, the mandatory criterion for eligibility under the Virgin Islands’ revised immigration policy is a good first step in ensuring the viability, longevity and continued future existence of the Local African descendent population.
Many were skeptical in the beginning with the individuals chosen to carry out this delicate work, fearing they would have sold out our/the country, fellowman, birthright and soul to the wishes of the UK and others.
But, suffice it to say, they appear to have had the local in deep consideration when they crafted this policy.
It is therefore hoped that it will not be circumvented, even though it will be, by those who want to be around us, but do not have within the normal humanness to live among us. Tough, but truthful words.
We want to live in a VI's free of racism and imposed EU political, social and economic values.
THEY HATE THE BVI........
TRY TO REMEMBER HOW GREAT LIFE WAS BEFORE THEY CAME BACK.
