'We need [police] stop & search like crazy'- Cindy Rosan
The often controversial Rosan made the calls while hosting ‘Da Morning Braff’ radio show on November 7, 2023, on Tola Radio 100.5 FM.
Ms Rosan, shortly after expressing fear of police carrying guns, said she believed the VI is out of control and a police state scenario is the best way forward.
“I believe that we need some stops and checks right now. The level at which guns are on the BVI streets, and I am not on the streets and I know, we need stop and search like crazy. I'm not saying go into people's houses. I don't feel violating people like that should be the answer.”
Too much gun freedom in VI - Rosan
She said the stop-and-search operations should come as part of more police presence in the VI.
“You can't tell me that we have this kind of freedom on our street that you come out of a club, and somebody could be just right there. You get an argument, and they take you out?
“How did you get so comfortable walking around our streets with guns? There needs to be zero tolerance and right at this point, I don't care how we get there,” she said.
Rosan reiterated that the VI needs "a little police state" happening at the moment to bring crime under control.
The Virgin Islands has recorded 6 fatal shootings so far for 2023.

Better get probable cause to search my car. Talk that sh** yo.
Property and violent crime, especially gun crimes, is a menace, a societal cancer but the solution is not treating the symptoms, but finding the root cause. The Occam razor approached is short-sighted. Occam razor sometimes work but is not a panacea always in problem solving. Solving the gun problem requires a community all hands on deck effort, ie, parents/guardians , guardians, police, government, crown, schools, churches, social organizations, NGOs, border patrol, customs, the wider community, etc. Further, the BVI does not own any gun factories so all the guns on the street are coming in through the porous border. The BVI has a number boats plying the large porous coast lines. Law enforcement should do a stop and search of the boats plying and roaming the BVI waters. But no the first reaction is to conduct stop and search of the black residents without just probable cause, violating their civil rights and liberties. The CoP police release a video belittling, berating, casting the BVI supposedly as a cesspool of violent crime, under the mystifying of being a recruiting tool. The Governor like to say read between and come to your own conclusion. So I will leave it at that. Be aware of the colonial mule though, for it kicks people in the colonies hard .The BVI needs to ramp up surveillance of the its vast porous and unproductive border. The UK wanted to send a ship during Covid, so assigned marine resources now if it is really a priority to guns coming into the territory ..
I will also like the intelligence department go out and get information on suspected criminals. Get warrants for girlfriend, boyfriend and the entire family and do your searches. But the police is not doing anything then we get murders and the police are unable to solve them.
So no body want it solved,no body
CHECK YOURSELF ANYWHERE YOU ARE AND GET READY TO - DUCK - HIT THE GROUND OR RUN FOR YOUR LIFE IF YOU CAN OR SAY A PRAYER BEFORE YOU DIE , AND WE ARE GOING VTO BLAME THE UK OR THE GOVERNOR OR THE COMMISSIONER
