We have forgotten Irma & returned to our evil ways- Jennie N. Wheatley
In fact, many persons engaged their neighbours for the very first time, thanks to the Category 5 hurricane.
This was also a sentiment shared recently by local author and former educator, Mrs Jennie N. Wheatley.
The 80-year-old Wheatley was speaking at the launch of the book ‘Irma Brings Love’ by local author Maureen A. Peters at the Upper Room Victory Church, Little Dix Hill in East End on June 25, 2019.
Irma brought love
Mrs Wheatley admitted that when Ms Peters gave her the book Irma Brings Love’ to read she was a bit hesitant about it and she even responded “Child what wrong with you? When did Irma bring love?”
However, Mrs Wheatley said she realised there was some truth to it because “That was when most of us, evil as hell, started talking to each other.”
Where is the love now?
But, according to Mrs Wheatley, “it is so sad after we get thirteen 5 cents again” many persons have since returned to their selfish and materialistic ways.
“The problem is that Irma didn’t hit you as hard as it hit me. So when you fix up your house you saying girl I would like you to come in but I buy some new things and your foot a little dirty.”
Meanwhile, Irma Brings Love is based on the love story of the two main characters, Tianna and Joshua, and the part Hurricane Irma played in it. It took the strength and might of Irma to bind her to Joshua, a carpenter who had wandered away from God.
The author explained that while the story is based on true accounts of Irma the romance in it is somewhat fictitious
Mrs Kayanna Roberts, in her review of the book, described it as “captivating, interesting and exciting to read.”
Mrs Janice I.F. Rymer, who had the opportunity to read the book, echoed the praises and excitement of those who shared before. “The way Maureen has written this story, it makes you feel encouraged, it makes you feel hopeful that all will be alright. It was not a doom and gloom story,” she said.

What that have to do with people whose mind is as bad as yours. Who have no compassion or love in their heart. Just talk sh**!
Many have no love for the Creator, so how can they have love for other human beings. It is disgusting to see people claiming that they worship the Almighty God when in fact the opposite is true. How do these people live with themselves? The word is truth: evil men and impostors will proceed from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived - 2 Timothy 3:13. Yes, deceiving others and being deceived themselves.
