‘We can’t even take a bath!’ No water on Fort Hill for 2 weeks
According to the woman, Ms Fahie, she decided to call our newsroom to complain since, apart from the inconvenience of not having water, she was getting the “royal run around” from the Water and Sewerage Department.
“I am not calling for myself here, I am calling for all the people on Fort Hill who have been without water for two weeks. We can’t even take a bath,” Ms Fahie claimed.
She further said she is an apartment owner and her tenants are getting extremely frustrated over the situation.
“And we calling Water and Sewerage Department and only getting the royal run around from staff there,” Ms Fahie alleged, adding that staff there has only been giving attitude with no proper answer as to when the water supply would be restored.
According to the woman, she understands that a pipe in the area was damaged and was fixed but learnt that the pipe burst again.
“It seems to me like they don’t know what they doing or they don’t have the proper instruments. This is unbearable. If I had the tools I would have gone and fixed that pipe myself. This is nonsense.”
Meanwhile, residents of Fahie Hill had complained over the weekend they were out of water for some two weeks but reported this morning, December 21, 2015 that the water supply has since been restored.
Calls to Director of Water and Sewerage Department Perline Scatliffe Leonard for comment went unanswered.

Shape up Hon. Vanterpool or ship out in one of those fancy ships you like to take photo with.
Is the infrastructure in place to transmit and distribute the water? And if no why not? VIP has been out of power over 4+ years so it can longer be blamed for not putting the imfrastructure in place; the ball is and has been in NDP court. No dog in this fight-just asking the ???? Is BI-Water the best crafted contracted we could have had, no. Nonetheless, if we are not willing to terminate the contract, we should have been working with due diligence to get water to our people. Clearly, warts and all, it is a valid binding contract. For the New Year, water being off should be the exception, not the normal expectation.
