Wasi Construction donates fans to Althea Scatliffe Primary School
Mr Charleswell, speaking to Virgin Islands News Online (VINO), said he was a school teacher for several years and knows that learning can only be done in a comfortable environment.
“I’m a former school teacher. I taught up in Baltimore, Maryland and in St Thomas, so I pass over there one day, and I realised how hot the children would be in an environment to learn in so I just decided to help out and donate 15 fans to the school,” he said.
Learning must happen in a comfortable environment - Mr Charleswell
“If a child is not in a comfortable environment, they not going to learn, you have to be comfortable in order to grasp so being there hot you would be uncomfortable,” he went on to say.
Mr Charleswell also encouraged other businesses to give back especially to schools.
"The children are the future generation, so let's work with them, help them out,” he said.
Mr Charleswell was also accompanied to the presentation by Minister for Transportation, Works and Utilities Hon Kye M. Rymer (R5).
