VI’s Sylvanna L. Charles wins Miss Elegantly Plus pageant

PARAQUITA BAY, Tortola, VI- Miss Sylvanna L. Charles, the Virgin Islands representative at the inaugural Miss Elegantly Plus 2025, captured the crown at the event last night, Friday, March 14, 2025.

The pageant was held at the Eileen L. Parsons Auditorium at the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College.

Miss Charles was crowned with a gold rhinestone crown and sashed with a deluxe rhinestone cash. She also received a cash prize of $5000.00. 

She copped prizes for Miss Photogenic, Miss Popularity, The People's Choice, Best Ambassadorial Presentation, Best Evening Wear, and Top Model 2025. 

Miss Mekelia A. Miller of Trinidad and Tobago placed 1st Runner Up. The other contestants were Miss Milove J.S. Fontaine of Antigua and Barbuda and Miss Hasanna C.C. Graham of the US Virgin Islands.

Miss Miller was awarded Best Onstage Interview and tied with Miss Fontaine for Miss Congeniality; Miss Fontaine also captured Best Resort Wear. 

Miss Graham was awarded Miss Enterprise, Director's Golden Award, and Best in Opening Number

Early wins for Miss Chares

Miss Charles also captured early wins during two optional segments the night before, March 13, 2025. She won all three categories that night- the Spokeswomen Speech, Best Talent and Fun Fashion. 

These categories did not contribute to Friday’s pageant overall score but gave the contestants a platform to express their personalities along with their love for pageantry. 

Miss Charles has been involved in pageantry for twenty years, having captured her first crown as BVI Festival Princess in 2005. She has amassed ten titles during her pageant career including 7 local, 2 regional and 1 international. Among the titles are Miss Teen BVI 2010, Miss Caribbean Talented Teen 2011, Miss Bold and Beautiful 2017, and Miss Plus World 2022.
