VI’s Chapman happy with performance at World Games 2017

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – The Virgin Islands Squash player, Joe S. Chapman represented the Territory in the World Games, which were held in Poland, concluding today Sunday July 30, 2017, featuring over 30 sports disciplines and with nearly 3500 competitors.

Chapman, bowed out in the round of 32 in the Men’s Squash tournament staged at the Hasta La Vista Squash Club, when he lost 3-1 to Britain’s Doug Kempsall, 3-1.

Chapman lost the first game, 6-11, bounded back to win the second, 11-9, but then found his opponent too hot as he lost the next two games 3-11, 4-11 to be knocked out of the competition.

“Very proud to represent the BVI at the 2017 World Games,” noted Chapman on his social media page, “I was happy with my performance and it was a lot of fun to compete against and watch such great Squash.”

The World Games 2017 in Wrocław is an event that features more than 30 sport disciplines such as various water, aerial or team sport which attracts thousands of athletes and fans.
