VI rugby players to open season with friendly game in Puerto Rico

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Rugby players in the Virgin Islands are currently getting in shape for a friendly game against Puerto Rico later this month.

The friendly on Saturday, September 28, 2024, in San Juan, will kickstart the season for the BVI Rugby Football Union (BVIRFU).

16 strong!

The 16-man squad will include ‘BVI Player of the Year’ Luke Saltonstall, as well as VI Rugby veterans Burt Woodley, Stuart Cullen, Roan Thornton, Rob Lind and Tom Chapman.

Issac Dawson, Jordan Ringland, Sam Thompson and Mark Wells will be making their touring debut for the VI with young lads Jayden Williams and Jaleel Cameron bringing the speed to a very well-rounded team.

Any persons wishing to play rugby in the VI should attend training at the A.O. Shirley Ground on Wednesdays at 6:30 PM.
