VI resident Lenia Smith nabs Agriculture & Fisheries’ Best Fish Soup Prize
Ms Smith received her prize from the Junior Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries, Honourable Dr. Karl Dawson (R1) alongside Agriculture Officer, Ms. Lesley Maduro.
The prize was a gift certificate for lunch for two including a complimentary bottle of wine courtesy the Anegada Reef Hotel.
The competition for residents of Anegada was held during their Agriculture and Fisheries Exhibition and Market on Friday, March 8 under the theme, “Sow the Seeds of Sustainability: Youth Fueling Food Security”.
The annual event, previously celebrated for a week, has expanded this year with activities held throughout March.
The remaining events are the ongoing Tortola Exhibition and Market continuing tomorrow. Then on March 20, 2024, its the Students’ session, Agricultural Education Option, the Jost van Dyke Exhibition and Market on March 23, 2024, and finally the Tortola Farm Tours; Virgin Gorda Wahoo Mania Fishing Tournament on March 30, 2024.
