VI records 25 more COVID-19 cases from last week– Dr Georges
Acting CMO Dr Ronald E. Georges made this disclosure while giving an update on the COVID-19 situation at an emergency meeting for the transportation for hire industry at the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College in Paraquita Bay on Tuesday, August 31, 2021.
“Currently, to date, we have 50 active cases, so last week we had 25 and the numbers are picking back up.”
He said the Virgin Islands has recorded a total of 2,610 positive cases, and “We continue to see positive cases coming in and so that is also from the persons who have entered the country and are screened.”
A few weeks ago, the territory recorded its peak in COVID-19 cases when the numbers stood at just over 1,600.
The number of COVID-19 related deaths remains at 37.

And all you double vax’d (I’m one) schmoes out there who are not wearing your mask, or not wearing appropriate masks (that means YOU, Gator wearers!) GET A CLUE... we can still become infected and we can still be contagious, even while being protected from serious illness by our vaccines. But we need to continue to mask up correctly, to avoid being a link in the infection chain, to avoid being infected and possibly spreading it to others. This is a Public Health initiative!
You are so right, I saw it too in East. Such a gathering after the funeral. Even Mi**0f H*** was up on the porch in that rather large gathering. When i saw that I said look out. Give them 2 weeks and you will hear.... and HERE WE ARE AGAIN WITH THE STORY.
We all have to live with this and follow protocols.
