VI receives first 500 pediatric COVID-19 vaccine doses from UK
In a GIS update posted on Facebook today, February 21, 2022, Governor Rankin revealed that on February 16, 2022, the VI received the pediatric doses that were delivered along with 3,510 Pfizer doses currently being used as both boosters or first and second doses.
As part of the update, Governor Rankin called for persons to continue getting vaccinated as the best option to protect against the virus.
Pediatric dose has short lifespan- Gov Rankin
Governor Rankin said the pediatric dose is earmarked for 5-11-year-olds; however, the doses have a very short lifespan of 10 weeks as such, parents have been urged to get children vaccinated if they so wish within the 10 week period.
"I urge that those who do want their younger children to be vaccinated to come forward now to get that first vaccination," he said.
The Governor added that he will continue to work with the Minister for Health and Social Development, Hon Carvin Malone (AL), and staff to get people to continue to come forward and get vaccinated so that the VI can return to as much normality as possible.

All this anti-vaccine nonsense is wicked!
If only the vaccine was equitably distributed World-wide, without regard to cost, and if only education was also given worldwide, so that people weren’t victimized by fear-mongering misinformation and outright disinformation...but two years later, here we are. Still fighting virus mutation variants, because not enough people were vaccinated against Covid.
Parents, wake up!! If you have to take your children out of school, take them out!! We are in a spiritual war!! This vaccine has absolutely nothing to do with health!!
