BUCARAMANGA, Colombia, SA- Doubles action began today, October 8, 2024, at the Pan American U23 Squash Championships in Bucaramanga, Colombia, where the Virgin Islands was represented by Danny, 16, and Oliver Henderson, 18.

Despite a strong start, the brothers fell to the pair representing Ecuador, 8-11, 5-11.

Oliver, commenting after the game, said he felt the VI pair played well as a team but “they were just on top of it more than us.”

Good start but…

The VI were 7-5 up in the first set but went downhill from there.

According to Danny, they started the game well but got a “bit too confident” and their sometimes-poor shot selection allowed the opponents to build momentum.

Both players expressed gratitude for the opportunity to play at the regional championships.

Luca Reich, 21, is the other squash player representing the VI at the championships.

All three players exited in the first round of the Singles championship.
