VI not ready to scrap all COVID-19 restrictions like UK- Hon Malone
Hon Malone, while a guest on JTV Big Story on January 26, 2022, was responding to interviewer Ms Cathy O. Richards on the issue of the decline in active cases in the territory and the possibility of relaxing some of the protocols, especially in the area of gatherings for social events.
“We always have to be mindful of the new positives. Since the last report, we have added 30 new positives, we are down 18 only because we had recoveries of another 48. So when that new positive drops to 5, 6 single digits, then and only then we know that we are in the correct zone.”
He further explained, “So this is why we say while the UK might be lifting everything we have to be seeing whether or not it is in our best interest to lift everything, not that we are going to keep it to 100 (per gathering) no we are not, not that we are going to implement curfews, we hope not, not that we are going to do all those other stuff.”
Hon Malone noted that in certain gatherings, like shows parties, it is difficult for persons to adhere to social distancing rules and there would also be a challenge of mask-wearing where imbibing is taking place.
What was real reason for UK decision?
Over a week ago, the embattled British Prime Minister Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson announced that the United Kingdom will scrap all restrictions, including mask-wearing and mandatory isolation.
Mr Johnson has; however, been criticised for only making that decision following calls for him to resign after it was found he breached his own Government's COVID-19 rules.
Caught in a whirlwind of revelations about parties organised in Downing Street, while the United Kingdom lived under strict health constraints, the conservative leader is currently going through his worst crisis since his accession to power in the summer of 2019.
His latest troubles add to an already long list of accusations of corruption and patronage.
US not following UK either!
White House press secretary Jen R. Psaki has also refused to speculate when Americans might follow the UK and finally get back to normal by ditching masks and COVID passports, despite a slowdown in cases.
While the English are being told by their leaders that they no longer need to wear masks and by the end of March will no longer be forced to isolate in the event of a positive COVID test, the US government is about to start dishing out free N95 masks to its citizens and finally launched its long-promised program to distribute millions of free test kits.

London:
British government sources have confirmed that Prime Minister Boris Johnson abruptly ordered the cancellation of COVID measures in response to the issuing of ICLCJ Arrest Warrants against GlaxoSmithKline CEO Emma Walmsley and the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby.
On January 19, Johnson suspended all COVID protocols within hours of receiving reports that a team of ICLCJ Sheriffs had arrived in London that morning to arrest Walmsley and Welby for complicity in medical genocide.
“We know it wasn’t coincidental, because Boris called an emergency cabinet meeting after MI5 notified him of the Warrants,” states the source.
“Soon after that, he summarily canceled the Plan B COVID measures on the insistence of MI5 Director Ken McCallum, and apparently the Queen herself.” (Britain ends all Covid-19 protocols – no mandates for masks, WFH, social distancing, Covid Passport etc. – Nairametrics)
Emma Walmsley and Justin Welby are among seventy-five people who were lawfully convicted of Crimes against Humanity by the ICLCJ on January 15. The CEO and churchman are convicted co-conspirators in the medical experimentation and murder of children at Anglican hospitals and orphanages, and among indigenous people in Canada.
Queen Elizabeth is also a convicted co-conspirator in these crimes as the head of the Anglican Church and a major shareholder in GlaxoSmithKline, and as one who personally sanctioned and authorized the use of children in deadly drug testing experiments at Anglican facilities, including the Kamloops Indian residential school, St. Paul’s hospital in Vancouver, and the National Defense Research and Development Laboratories in Toronto.
“This scandal could bring down the Crown, so the government needs to squelch the COVID measures and all those anti-vax protesters who are now legally empowered to arrest the Head of State and Church,” remarked Kevin Annett, Chief Advisor to the Court Prosecutor.
“And that’s exactly what every freedom loving Briton must do now: act as Citizen Sheriffs and use our warrants to arrest Emma Walmsley, Justin Welby, and Elizabeth Windsor, under the authority of the Court and the will of the people, who are the true sovereigns of England.”
Stand by for more updates on the impending arrests of Walmsley, Welby, and Windsor.

Moreover, in the US and from day 1, Covid has been politicized. It is now a polarizing, tribal, wedge, cultural, etc, issue that is divided along major parties line, ie, Democrats and Republicans. There are more tools available now to fight Covid than was available to fight the 1918 Spanish Flu, yet more precious lives have been lost in the US due to Covid (over 800K) than during the Spanish Flu(~675,000). Did politics play a role?
Further, Covid-19 has revealed the structural weakness of the VI, along with most other sister regional countries, economy. The commonality is that they all depend heavily on tourism. Consequently, the VI and others have to balance governing between health and economics. This is almost a Hobson’s choice. Nonetheless, the VI must take sensible risks, tilting towards health. Continuing, diversifying the economy must become a moonshot for the VI. It is a Quadrant 1 issue—-Important and Urgent.
